First of all I ordered this router from FlashRouters on a Tuesday and received it in Australia on Thursday, I don't know how that's possible but it's brilliant service.
The router came set up to connect to PIA VPN using my account details. It was literally plug in, set up my wifi name and password, and start using. 20 minutes tops. Since then it's worked flawlessly and makes accessing things like Netflix US on my smart TV's a breeze. Having the ability to switch between VPN and standard networks at the flick of a switch is great.
I couldn't recommend it more highly and it's pretty cheap in the scheme of things.
Got this router based on many good reviews of it. I also wanted the Private Internet Access (PIA) VPN loaded onto it. When I got it I had a lot of problems. They all seemed to be related to the PIA feature. It was very frustrating. I sent numerous emails to Flashrouter support, all of which were answered promptly. After doing all they said to do I still had lots of problems. I finally gave up on the PIA feature. The router itself worked fine...mostly. We arranged a time for me to be at my computer and they remotely got into my computer and found the problem. To make a long story short, the problem of was another program I was running called DNSCrypt. Once I uninstalled that everything has worked fine since. Flashrouter support was always prompt and very patient! I highly recommend this company and it's products!
Got this to use PIA with all my devices with one setup. It was fast right out of the box.
Forget spending hours deciphering and testing the DD-WRT forums/website/Wiki for the correct hardware version and proper build only to discover that you've improperly flashed your device and bricked it.
FlashRouters offers what many router manufacturers won't: better firmware plus basic network and VPN service configuration assistance from responsive and highly trained USA tech support that will actually answer your questions.
