How To Watch NFL Streaming From Anywhere 2018

NFL Streaming

It’s time to get your WiFi networks in order, folks because the NFL season is back! The 99th season of the NFL kicks off September 6th at 8:20 in Philadelphia, with the Philadelphia Eagles taking on the Atlanta Falcons. It’s the battle of the Predator Birds!

For any diehard fan, there’s nothing worse than being stuck out of the country during football season. Maybe you’ve been sent away on business or planned a vacation poorly. Whatever the reason, we know your blood pressure is skyrocketing thinking about all the NFL streaming you’ll miss while you’re away. Fear not, we’ve got your back!

FlashRouters is here to make sure that no good football fan is stuck without the means to watch their favorite team (or any team, for that matter). There are plenty of ways to stream NFL games from outside the US, and we’re going to tell you all about them below. Maybe we’ll even throw in a tip about how to get them from inside the US for cheap, wink.

Stream NFL Games On NFL Game Pass

NFL Game Pass

Let’s start with the best option marketed to solve this exact problem: NFL GamePass.

For the NFL fan who’s stuck overseas from fall through winter, NFL GamePass is the perfect solution. The app is available for smartphones, tablets, Xbox One, Apple TV, PS4, Roku, Amazon fireTV, and many more. Plus, NFL Game Pass covers all 256 games, so you can follow your team or as many teams as you want! And, you can choose a subscription that suits your needs, pay $99 up front, or $29.99/month for four months.

And of course, NFL Game Pass offers the most up-to-date live scores, in-game stats, chat options, and DVR controls. As well as, access to replays of games throughout the season and recordings of games stretching back as far as 2011.

Unfortunately, NFL Game Pass does come with its downfalls. NFL Game Pass only streams preseason games and must follow national and local broadcast restrictions, meaning that they have blackout restrictions. Essentially, some games may not be available to watch live on NFL Game Pass.

NFL Game Pass Blackout

As you can see, an NFL Game Pass subscriber living in the New York area will not be able to stream the Giants or Jets games online.

How To Stream Every NFL Game Live With International NFL Game Pass

Interestingly enough, NFL Game Pass will not be offering live streaming of regular or postseason games in the United States. The International NFL Game Pass, however, will allow live streaming for preseason, regular season, and postseason games. Plus, with the Pro NFL Game Pass subscription, you get NFL RedZone Live, condensed games viewing options, multi-view game modes, picture-in-picture, and much more to the list of perks!

Sadly, to sign up for the International NFL Game Pass, you must be located outside of the US. So how does a US resident sign up for International Game Pass? With a virtual private network of course!

A virtual private network, or VPN, is a service that routes and encrypts your online data to a secure VPN server anywhere in the world. This makes it look like your Internet connection is connecting from your chosen VPN server.

For example, a person in the United States connecting to a VPN server in the United Kingdom will trick NFL Game Pass into thinking they’re from the United Kingdom. This allows for them to subscribe to and watch International NFL Game Pass and access geo-blocked content from around the world, all while protecting your online data!

  • ExpressVPN – Over 2,000 VPN servers in 148 server locations in 94 countries. Unlimited bandwidth, speed, and server switches. Recommended VPN service for China.
  • IPVanish – No logs! Own and operate their own servers. Over 40,000 IPs on 1,000+ servers in more than 60 countries! Recommended VPN service for the Middle East, including UAE & Dubai.
  • NordVPN – Use over 5,156 servers from 62 countries around the world. Pay using bitcoin for maximum security. No logging and military grade AES 256-bit encryption!

FlashRouters also offers a VPN provider comparison list to help you find the virtual private network that best suits your needs.

How To Watch Live NFL Games Without International NFL Game Pass

Does shelling out around $100 for NFL Game Pass sound prohibitively expensive? Live somewhere NFL Game Pass is not available? Don’t fret; because there are other ways to stream NFL games outside of the US.

For US residents, all games will be split up between five networks: CBS, FOX, NBC, ESPN, and the NFL Network. Here’s the breakdown:

  • Saturday Afternoon Football: CBS, FOX
  • Sunday Night Football: NBC
  • Monday Night Football: ESPN
  • Thursday Night Football: Fox (11 of 13 matchdays), NFL Network
    • Amazon Prime Members and Twitch users will have the opportunity to stream 11 Thursday night games (that’s all the games outside weeks 2 and 3) thanks to Amazon’s deal with FOX.
    • The NFL Network will broadcast all 13 Thursday Night Football games, as well as the Week 8 Game in London (Eagles vs Jaguars), and 2 Saturday Games during weeks 15 and 16.

How to Access NFL Games Over-the-Top

For those that have “cut-the-cord” on cable, there are many ways to access these channels. However, there may be restrictions on live viewing:

PlayStation Vue

  • The Core Plan offers all 5 channels for $50/month

DirecTV

  • The $55/month package offers all channels, while the $40/month package offers all except NFL Network
  • DirecTV also comes with NFL Sunday Ticket that gives viewers the opportunity to watch all out-of-market Sunday games
    • University students can purchase NFL Sunday Ticket for half the price ($24.99)
    • Sunday Ticket can be purchased as a stand-alone service, but only if you live in an area that DirecTV can’t cover, or in an apartment or condo building
    • Their “TV to Go”  option starts at $73.49/month for four months, while their “Max” package, which includes NFL Red Zone, is $99/month

SlingTV

  • Sling splits its football selection between two packages: Sling Blue and Sling Orange
    • Sling Blue:
      •  Thursday and Sunday games on Fox, NBC and the NFL Network, and NFL Red Zone (as an add-on)
    • Sling Orange
      •  Monday night games on ESPN
  • SlingTV doesn’t offer CBS, but you can add CBS All Access separately for $5.99/month to view AFC Sunday afternoon games

Hulu with Live TV

  • Users get access to CBS, FOX, NBC, and ESPN for $40/month

YouTubeTV

  • Users get access to CBS, FOX, NBC, and ESPN for $40/month

FuboTV

  • Subscribers will get access to CBS, Fox, NBC and NFL Network, but not to ESPN

NFL App

  • Starting this year, users of the app can stream local, in-market games on their phone through their phone network (no wifi)

Unfortunately, these websites are not available outside of the US, so you still need to subscribe to a VPN.
