It gets even better if you go for the Wilmaa Premium package. For as little as 5.26 Swiss francs a month, you’ll get features like Fast Zapping (a quicker way to go between streaming channels), Live Pause, and EPG Premium, which allows you to record every channel around the clock for 7 days!

Best VPN Service Providers

FlashRouter-Ready VPNs

Of course, the reason you’re here is because you’re looking to keep using Wilmaa for streaming television, no matter where you happen to be in the world, and Wilmaa will only stream to Switzerland-based IP addresses.

The solution is simple: get yourself a VPN subscription.

For the unfamiliar, a VPN service (or Virtual Private Network service) is a subscription-based service that gives users the ability to experience a much safer and more open internet. VPNs accomplish the former by tunneling all of your online activity through encrypted servers set up all over the world whenever you log in, thus keeping them out of the hands of identity thieves, hackers, snooping governments, etc.

The latter point – the one about a more open internet – is the one that really applies here, if your goal is to view geographically restricted material, no matter where you happen to be. VPNs can help you watch whatever you want, from wherever you want, by giving you an IP address in the country of your choice.

Any VPN on our official supported provider list is necessarily tested and approved by FlashRouters, but if you’re looking for a good VPN for Switzerland-based servers, then we’d point you towards at HideMyAss, IPVanish, and VyprVPN.

When you log in to your VPN, you pick a server that encrypts your online data, and that server can be anywhere in the world. Once you pick that server, you get an IP address in the country that houses that server. Now your computer, laptop, mobile device, tablet, etc. thinks it’s located in the country you chose.

So if you’ve chosen a Switzerland-based server, you can visit the Wilmaa website and watch whatever you want, no matter where in the world you actually are. Live in Switzerland but you’re on an extended vacation or business trip out of the country? Your VPN will keep you from feeling homesick.

If you want to get the most out of your new VPN and your Wilmaa streaming experience, then a FlashRouter is just what the doctor ordered.

At FlashRouters, we take already impressive routers and significantly boost their power, speed, and versatility by flashing them with DD-WRT or Tomato firmware. These replacement firmwares add an invaluable string of features to these routers that allow users to extend their wireless range, access advanced security features, and control how their bandwidth is allocated (which really helps users who are into online streaming).

Better yet, a FlashRouter means an easier VPN experience. You can keep your old router and use it in conjunction with your new FlashRouter by trying out our popular dual router setup. This setup, illustrated below, allows users to switch back and forth between their local network and their VPN with ease.

If you want to know what FlashRouter is right for you, we recommend taking a look at our best DD-WRT routers of 2014 list. Some of our more popular routers include the sleek, economy model, Linksys E2500 Tomato FlashRouter, and the Asus RT-AC66U DD-WRT FlashRouter. Of course, we’d be remiss if we didn’t mention our most powerful router, the Netgear R7000 Nighthawk DD-WRT FlashRouter. That one simply smokes all of the competitors.

Well, VPN is _in principle_ the solution to bypass the geo-restrictions of wilmaa.com. However, “Switzerland” IPs of VyprVPN for example are not accepted by wilmaa.com servers.

      Hey Hans,

      Thanks for letting us know.

I would recommend trying another provider who cycles through addresses more frequently if that is your issue.
