Once again, FlashRouters has bolstered our popular router lineup with a lightning-quick Wireless-AC DD-WRT router. Rejoice!

Up until now, our only Wireless-AC routers have come from Asus. Well, now we have a  Netgear Wireless-AC router to keep them company. Prepare to meet the Netgear R6300 V1 AC1750 Wireless-AC DD-WRT FlashRouter!

Netgear R6300 Specs

Leaving aside the tremendous wireless speeds featured by integrating Wireless-AC, the Netgear R6300 is truly something to behold.

Netgear has filled this stylish WiFi beast with the best processor we currently offer, a robust 600 MHz Broadcom processor for handling the increasing demands of WiFi users. The embedded 128 MB RAM/128 MB flash memory, are by far the largest amount of flash memory (the next closest is 32 MB) we have been able to offer on a DD-WRT router. Flash memory size is important for installing superior high-end versions of DD-WRT while leaving ample room for advanced packages and setups.

For VPN users looking for optimal speeds, the better the processor, RAM & Flash the better overall performance capabilities when encrypting and decryption data and streaming video from all across the world.

And don’t forget the basics of any high-performance network centerpiece,  the Netgear R6300 includes four gigabit ports, two USB 2.0 ports, and six internal antennas.

But it’s in the Wireless-AC where the Netgear R6300 really makes its name. This dual-band beauty is capable of running two concurrent signals at 450 Mbps on the 2.4 Ghz with 1300 Mbps on the 5 GHz (the clear HD streaming band).

Future-proof your network today with the Netgear R6300 Wireless-AC router; you’ll be glad you did when all those demanding new holiday gadgets and gifts start getting on to your wireless network.

DD-WRT Router Firmware Benefits

DD-WRT Firmware

DD-WRT Firmware

If we had just provided you with a Netgear R6300 and left it alone, you’d have a superb router on your hands. But why do that when we can super-charge the Netgear R6300 with DD-WRT firmware?

DD-WRT is a replacement firmware designed to expand the functionality of any router it graces. Adding this firmware to a router allows the user to access advanced security options, control their bandwidth allocation, and even extend their wireless range.

What’s more, a DD-WRT router is compatible with PPTP, OpenVPN, & L2TP VPN integration, thus providing users with a more manageable VPN experience. Presumably, one subscribes to a VPN to secure their online information, access regionally restricted material, and generally simplify his or her life, so why not pick a router with firmware that will make your VPN that much easier to access or use?

DD-WRT is truly a marvel, and to illustrate our point, we’re going to give you a partial list of its benefits of DD-WRT on a Netgear R6300:

And again, that’s a partial list! Suffice to say, DD-WRT has the power to turn ordinary routers into great routers, and great routers into extraordinary ones. It’s no wonder we flash so many of our routers with this powerful replacement firmware.
