Best & Most Popular Asus DD-WRT & Tomato Routers for 2014

An Introduction to Asus

Head into the new year with an upgraded router to properly distribute wireless and wired speed to all your favorite internet devices. Many consumers know Asus (short for ASUSTeK Computer Incorporated) as a high quality manufacturer of many consumer electronic devices including laptops, netbooks and PCs. But Asus has quite a reputation with networking professionals and consumers for the high quality hardware they use for their routers. According to Wikipedia:

“The Asus series of routers usually ship with Broadcom chipsets, relatively faster processors and more memory, removable antennas, and USB ports for expansion. Although Asus’ factory default firmware is generally as feature-rich as its competitors’, the firmware is still not considered very stable or powerful enough compared to its hardware. Open source Linux-based router firmware projects such as … DD-WRT … are able to get better performance out of the devices and offer their users more flexibility and customization options.

      Sorry Adnan,

At this time there is no DD-WRT support for this router because it uses a Ralink Chip which is the least supported chip in the DD-WRT universe. I know some units have been donated to the project but no success has been reported.

Please let us know if we can assist you any further.
